A union of raw earth and the ancient rammed earth construction technique. Compatta is a one-of-a-kind collection of porcelain stoneware slabs, created using the most advanced ceramic production techniques and proposing a dialogue between the profoundly archaic and the ultra-contemporary. The effect of compact raw earth and the ancient rammed earth construction technique is interpreted in multiple ways. Sabbia and Argilla evoke a dense, powdery mix of dust and granular mud in warm tones, which become cool and gray in the shades of Limo and Ghiaia. The larger slabs, on the other hand, display the sinuous stratification of earth in homogeneous bands of color typical of rammed earth and are available in the warm tones of Pisé Sabbia and Pisé Melange and the cool-toned Pisé Limo and Pisé Ghiaia versions.
