Dintorni is the new collection created by Inga Sempé based on the iconic 20x20 cm format. It is an exploration of the possible, through some of the main traditional ceramic languages, reinterpreted with a contemporary twist. The project owes its name to "what is around," to the still unknown and the eternal possibility of surprise. The French designer, like a flaneur, wanders through her own imagination in search of representational inspiration. Isola, on the other hand, constitutes a dreamlike universe, in which Sempé gives free rein to her imagination. The ten metaphysical representations, sold exclusively together, depict a distant place to which one can escape yet simultaneously find refugea disruption of geometry and grid. Each scene seems to interact with the others through an invitation to movementascents and descentsthat, however, does not resolve into any ultimate destination.
