Macchia Mediterranea lights and flowers is an original project by Letizia Piani, who entered the world of design after a long career in fashion and furniture. It is a collection of objects made entirely by hand by Cerasarda, a brand known for its ceramics from the Costa Smeralda. The collection comprises three series of objects, whose shapes draw inspiration from the world of Sardinia, just as the nine shades in which they are presented draw on the colors of the island's plants and flowers and the Mediterranean scrub in general, from which the collection takes its name. The spontaneous, simple, irregular shapes with cuts and openings offer the possibility of holding not only flowers, but also lights and candles, bringing notes of color and light into your home, creating different compositions depending on the space and the season. The three series draw on three characteristics of Sardinia: the first series, with sinuous contours, is inspired by the stones of the Costa Smeralda, with their roundness and dents created by the erosion of time, waves, and wind. The second series, more linear, resembles the architecture of the island's most typical villages, with houses lined along the romantic harbors of Carloforte and La Maddalena, with thousands of windows opening onto the Sardinian sun. The third series, gigantic and majestic, with its vases up to one meter tall, is reminiscent of the rocky mountains of Sardinia's interior, known as tacchi (heels) for their height. The common denominator for all three series is the sunny colors of the glazes, applied with a special immersion technique to create different drips and shades for each vase, making each piece unique and tailored. The Macchia Mediterranea luci e fiori collection, with its colors and shapes, aims to maintain the guiding and architectural lines of the Mediterranean style.
